Why check your pressure?
As many as five million people in the UK have undiagnosed high blood pressure - they are unlikely to know they are at risk. The only way to know whether you have high blood pressure is to have it measured.
So this May, we’re partnering with the International Hypertension Society to support their ‘May Measurement Month’ campaign to encourage as many people across the nation to get their blood pressure checked.
Did you know it’s not just at GPs you can get your blood pressure checked?
If you live in one of our pilot areas, look out for new venues including:
- barber shops
- football clubs
- children’s centres
- places of worship
High blood pressure is medically known as hypertension. High blood pressure is serious. If ignored, it can lead to heart and circulatory diseases. It can also cause kidney failure, heart failure and problems with your sight.
